Texarkana, Texas Republican Women Reception

The Texarkana, Texas Republican Women hosted a reception for Texas Republican Party Chairman Lt. Col. Allen West on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center. Senator Bryan Hughes, Representative Gary Van Deaver and Representative Nominee Pat Fallon were also in attendance.

The Texarkana, Texas Republican Women are members of the local community who believe in the Republican Party and its principles. The members meet on the third Tuesday of selected months and membership dues are $30 annually.


CASA & TCAC Save Jane Event

More than 1,200 children received services through The Children’s Advocacy Center of Texarkana in 2019. The inaugural Texarkana Save Jane virtual event, held August 13, endeavored to take those unspeakable acts against the innocent children of our city, and give voice to them, one name at a time. … The Save Jane child abuse awareness event was launched by Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center in 2019 with the goal of spreading awareness about the magnitude of child abuse, and about the organizations working in the field.

Trinity Christian Annual Sports Banquet

Trinity Christian School held its Annual Sports Banquet on Tuesday, August 3, 2020 in the Trinity Christian Edgar Wallace Gymnasium. TCS athletes were honored for 2019/2020 accomplishments and enjoyed a “look” forward to the 2020/2021 athletic seasons.


Prodigy Yoga Ribbon Cutting

The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce with studio owner Jessica McCarty marked the official grand opening of Prodigy Yoga Studio and Boutique on July 31 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its 3423 New Boston Road location. Prodigy may not be the only yoga studio in Texarkana, but it endeavors to be a different kind of yoga studio for a different kind of yoga practice. McCarty is a 200-hour Registered YogaFaith Trainer with the Christian Yoga Association. She teaches Christ-centered yoga, which promotes, physical, mental and spiritual health, rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ.

Joseph Raymond Fine Art Gallery became the latest addition to the exiting renewal of downtown Texarkana. Texarkana Children’s Charities Open

The All Pro Tour (APT) and Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) Texarkana Children’s Charities Open Golf Tournament benefitting Runnin’ WJ Ranch was held Monday, July 13 thru Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Northridge Country Club and Texarkana Country Club. … The tournament featured 250 golfers. The week of events included a PRO-AM Golf Tournament, Golf Clinic for special needs friends of Runnin’ WJ Ranch, Pro 9 Hole Shoot-Out, and ended with an awards ceremony for the winners of the tour. … The winners of the Pro 9 Hole Shoot-Out were Sam Wise and Karah Sanford.

United Way 2019 Campaign Recognition Lunch

A letter from United Way of Greater Texarkana Executive Director Mark BledsoeTo our Community and Campaign Supporters: … On Monday, June 22, 2020, United Way of Greater Texarkana was able to have the first board meeting since February 17th. It was a lunch at Silver Star Smokehouse with board members and Texarkana, Arkansas Mayor Allen Brown in attendance. Due to COVID-19, our annual United Way of Greater Texarkana 2019 Campaign Recognition Breakfast had to be cancelled. Although this was a general UWGT board meeting, many campaign recognition awards were handed out.
