When a book comes into my orbit multiple times, I embrace it as a sign of destiny. My choice for the August book review was like that. It popped up in a few Instagram stories from fellow book lovers and then directly in a text from a good friend who knows my taste. Doesn't it feel good to be known? Friday Night Lights 2022

Beaming stadium lights, the consistent beating of drums, and the smell of fall fills the air. Students dawn painted faces and spirit gear, still feeling the enthusiasm from the pep rally earlier in the day. Parents hold signs of support, and cheerleaders line the field to welcome the football team to the electrifying atmosphere. Half-time brings new entertainment as the band and drill team take the field to wow the crowd. Hours of practice from the week come down to just minutes. The scoreboard beams as our Texarkana athletes take the field to fight for a win.

Summer is here, and for a lot of us, lake days are what it is all about. Whether you are spending the weekend with family or with friends, summers at the lake make for some great memories, especially when you are speeding across the water being pulled behind a boat on a tube, a knee board, or skis. Tubing and knee boarding are both thrilling and can be physically demanding, but they require little skill. Skiing, however, requires balance and practice and can challenge your body with significant cardio and strength training.
