Total Medical Supply Hero Scholarship
Total Medical Supply specializes in continuous glucose monitors and supplies, diabetic testing supplies, urological and catheter supplies, incontinence supplies, thickeners, nutritional supplements, and breast pumps. Located in Texarkana, TX, on McKnight Road, Total Medical Supply services patients nationwide.
This year, Total Medical Supply awarded two $10,000 Hero Scholarships to high school seniors for their college careers. Arkansas High graduates Keonnie Strickland and Rashad Thrower were the first recipients of the Hero Scholarship.
At Total Medical Supply, interns learn our process, how to handle products, and how to take care of patients. The goal is to offer interns customer service skills that can be applied in any field they wish to explore during and after college. The internship shows, even in their limited roles, how the interns can still be extremely valuable and what a company culture can and should look like. Total Medical Supply uses available resources to connect and build the intern's network with people in their desired field. The hope is for interns to build confidence in themselves and prove that a safe and yet challenging workspace does exist.

Towards the end of my senior year, I was blessed to receive the Total Medical Supply Hero Scholarship. I had no prior knowledge that I would be receiving this scholarship before it was awarded to me.
Being a recipient of this scholarship has truly been a rewarding and unique experience. I have been granted the amazing opportunity to work as an intern at Total Medical Supply, which has provided me with a great sense of work ethic and responsibility. On my first day, I had the sense that everyone was very close, almost like family, and I felt accepted immediately. The work environment is something I have never experienced before in my working career.
Through this internship, I have had great opportunities to network and gain advice from wonderful people who work there.
