The Texarkana Regional Airport hosted its ribbon cutting on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the new location, 2600 TXK Blvd. Texarkana Arkansas. SkinRNs hosted its grand opening on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 3218 Texas Boulevard, Texarkana, TX. Hosted by owners Brandy Early and Holland Meador, guests enjoyed holdovers, drinks, and a peek into the newly renovated location. SkinRNs is a physician-supervised medical spa offering aesthetics, IV hydration, weight loss, and skincare, located at 3218 Texas Boulevard.
Robbins Toyota hosted its second annual "Attend and Win Giveaway" on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Participating districts were Liberty-Eylau ISD, Pleasant Grove ISD, Texarkana ISD, Texarkana Arkansas School District, and Trinity Christian School. Eighteen seniors had perfect attendance all year and were entered into the drawing. Layla Lane was the lucky winner of the annual Attend and Win Giveaway. Layla drove away with a brand new 2024 Toyota Corolla thanks to Robbins Toyota and her perfect attendance.
We Are Washington, a local non-profit whose mission is to cultivate the youth of our community into motivated and upstanding individuals, hosted its inaugural “We Are One: We Are Washington Gala” on May 9th, 2024, at Crossties Event Venue. The non-profit is housed at Washington Community Development Center, which was the old Booker T. Washington High School, and the building itself has been transformed into a hub for life skill development, sporting events, tutoring, community events, and more. Further, the center is home to a number of other non-profits that are housed there rent-free.
The Twisted and Uncorked VIP Party took place on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Silvermoon on Broad. The evening featured a VIP dinner buffet, music, and auction items, all in celebration of the 9th Annual Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival held on Saturday, May 5, 2024. The best part is that 100% of the proceeds will be used locally to support the Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State Area and Our Place Day Respite Center.
Texarkana Independent School District hosted a book signing for alumni Gary Kusin on May 2, 2024, at the Sullivan Performing Arts Center and John Thomas Theatre. Gary Kusin is a mentor, investor, entrepreneur, business advisor, and author of the book Always Learning: Lessons on Leveling Up from GameStop to Laura Mercier Cosmetics and Beyond.
On April 20, 2024, the Arkansas State Police Foundation and the ASPF Spouses’ Auxiliary Troop G hosted a Dueling Piano Fundraiser at Texarkana Country Club to benefit the Randy & Betty Hedge Spouses’ Auxiliary Scholarship fund. Currently, this scholarship fund awards 19 Troopers' dependents and has awarded 15 additional scholarships for Fall 2024. Click here for more information on ASPF.

It was a heartfelt gathering to express gratitude to generous donors and commemorate yet another remarkable year of giving back.
Opportunities Inc. held its third annual Sunday Funday on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Crossties in downtown Texarkana. This event included live music, barbeque from Naamans, and a baggo competition. With all proceeds dedicated to supporting children and adults with disabilities in our community, attendees enjoyed a day of fun-filled activities while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.
