Beautiful. Healthy. Home.
At the end of a long driveway sits a stately, two-story home, where a serene, neutral color palette and a beautiful lake in the background immediately capture your attention. However, you might not realize the careful thought that went into creating a space that is both aesthetic and health-conscious. When Jill Rowe, owner of Rowe Casa Organics, began planning her dream home, she was concerned with both how the house would meet her family’s needs and how to create an environment free of toxins.
As you enter, the neutral tones continue, allowing features like the floating staircase and baby grand piano to take center stage. The soft paint scheme may not seem out of the ordinary, but unlike most standard paint brands, Rowe opted to bring in a clean line of paint manufactured by Healthier Homes. According to the Healthier Homes website, this paint is “... odorless and contains no hazardous air pollutants, no ammonia or acetone, no aromatic formaldehyde or biocides, and is free of paraffin wax.” Along with clean paint, you will find air purifiers in every room. “Air Doctors filter out any toxins. New furniture gives off gases that are highly toxic, so purifying the air in new homes is very important,” said Rowe. “Indoor air is some of the most toxic air you can breathe.”
In addition to the color scheme, the living area is further highlighted by a two-story ceiling and banks of windows that allow sunlight to pour into the space. “It was important to me that we have a lot of natural sunlight and that the floor plan was designed for everything to flow onto the back patio. I had an idea of what I wanted for the floor plan and then hired Lynlee [Harvey] to design it. She also made suggestions for the finishes,” says Rowe. “Then Alicia [Woodle] helped me make final decisions on finishes because she really knows my style. Alicia also picked out the furniture and added the decorative touches throughout,” Rowe said. Natural light also streams into the master bedroom through more large windows. One health-minded element you wouldn’t notice are the linen sheets mindfully placed on every bed. “Linen sheets carry high frequencies, which are healing to the body,” she said. “And on top of the sheets, each bed has another sheet that blocks EMF radiation.” Adjacent to the master bedroom are two more well-thought-out areas. The first is a sun-drenched sitting area complete with a massage chair. The second area is the master bath, where many choices were made for health benefits—a sauna for heat and light therapy and a large soaking tub. “The bathtub is great because it creates micro-bubbles, which is like having an oxygen bath. Cancer cells hate oxygen; it’s great for skin healing, killing infections, and much more,” Rowe explained.
Each room in the home reflects the personality of its occupant. The youngest daughter’s space is playful and feminine, with an adjoining playroom perfect for her four-year-old imagination. The oldest daughter’s room is more mature, with muted pinks and grays and ample room for her keyboard. In contrast, the son’s room incorporates bold, masculine accents. Upstairs, near the older kids’ rooms, is a teen hangout with basketball-style arcade games and a game table. Just outside on the large balcony are two more game tables, one for ping-pong and another for shuffleboard. Then below, in the yard, is an oversized pool with plenty of room to swim or play water volleyball. Other features of the yard include a sports court, a large play set, and even an in-ground trampoline. There is also a detached building with a gym and a golf simulator room.
This home is a testament to a lifestyle centered on wellness and connection. Every detail has a purpose, from toxin-free finishes to spaces designed for activity and togetherness. As Rowe reflects on her journey, she shares that this vision has been deeply shaped by the challenges she faced during her cancer diagnosis. “I did a deep dive into health as if my life depended on it,” she says. “Because back then, it did.” Now, her home is not just a sanctuary for her family but a reflection of the hope and healing that guided her through one of the most difficult times of her life. It’s a space where every element serves to nurture the body, mind, and spirit, creating a legacy of wellness for generations to come.
