Green Smoothie

Combine each ingredient, along with a large scoop of ice, in a blender and mix until smooth. Smoothies are a great meal replacement or afternoon treat. Enjoy!

High-quality whey protein—Whey Protein promotes muscle growth. It is highly satiating (filling) which may help reduce hunger, and it can help with weight loss by keeping you feeling fuller longer.

1 tablespoon peanut butter powder or peanut butter—Peanut butter is loaded with health-promoting nutrients including vitamin E, magnesium, iron, selenium, and vitamin B6. Research suggests people who eat nuts and nut butters regularly are less likely to develop heart disease and type two diabetes.

1 teaspoon spirulina—Spirulina is a superfood and is rich in a range of vitamins and minerals essential for maintaining a healthy immune system, like vitamins E, C, and B6. Spirulina powder can be found locally at the Granary Health Store, GNC, and Walmart.

1/4 cup oats—Oats are among the healthiest grains on Earth. They are a gluten-free whole grain and are a great source of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. They are thought to lower blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Dash of cinnamon—Cinnamon has long been used for a variety of health benefits. It is believed cinnamon has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal benefits. It may support gut health, lower blood sugar, manage blood pressure and be beneficial for the aging brain.

Milk—Dairy milk has many benefits, including strengthening bone health and helping mitigate cognitive decline. It is rich in nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, B vitamins, potassium, and vitamin D, and it is also an excellent source of protein. For those who are lactose intolerant, there are a variety of options, including oat milk, almond milk, and soy milk, each providing their own health benefits.
