A Christmas Tradition Returns to Jefferson
There is something timeless about Christmas in Jefferson, Texas. The glow of Christmas trees in historic windows, garland draped across wraparound porches, and the sound of carriage wheels along brick streets create the kind of holiday atmosphere that feels almost impossible to find anymore.
This year marks the 44th Annual Jefferson Candlelight Tour of Homes, a beloved East Texas tradition that continues to draw visitors from across the region each holiday season. Throughout December, guests are invited to step inside some of Jefferson’s most beautiful historic homes and experience the charm of a Victorian-style Christmas.
Each home featured on the tour is thoughtfully decorated for the season, blending rich history with festive holiday details. From grand staircases wrapped in greenery to glowing Christmas trees and elegant dining tables prepared for holiday gatherings, every stop offers something unique and memorable.
Alongside these stunning homes, visitors can also enjoy Jefferson’s charming downtown, filled with local shopping, dining, and seasonal sights that make the town feel straight out of a Christmas movie. Jefferson transforms into a true holiday destination during the Candlelight Tour. Whether you spend the evening strolling through town with a warm drink in hand, shopping for Christmas gifts, or admiring the beautifully decorated historic streets, the experience captures the slower, more meaningful feeling of the season.
One free event included during the celebration is the Enchanted Forest, featuring beautifully lighted and decorated Christmas trees that add even more holiday magic to the experience.
One of the things that makes the Jefferson Candlelight Tour so special is the flexibility it offers visitors. Tickets may be used on any event date, allowing guests to explore the featured homes at their own pace and create a holiday experience that fits their schedule.
