HOMETOWN PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
Blake Montgomery is a personal injury attorney in Texarkana, Arkansas. He has called Texarkana home for two years now, and chose it the same way he makes most decisions—deliberately. He and his wife are raising their two children here, his firm maintains offices on both sides of the state line, and this spring he breaks ground on a new 3,000 square foot office building in Texarkana, Arkansas. He is not passing through.
He came by the work ethic honestly. His family raised poultry and cattle in Hope, Arkansas, and that upbringing built in him a commitment to knowing his neighbors and earning his reputation for quality work. He graduated from the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts, earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and studied comparative international law at Downing College, University of Cambridge during law school. The faculty at the University of Arkansas School of Law named him Most Promising Trial Lawyer before he ever took a case.
In February 2015, Blake sat for the Arkansas Bar Examination and earned the highest score in the state. He was licensed at 22 years old, one of the youngest attorneys admitted to practice in Arkansas in a generation.
He spent the first years of his career in general practice before narrowing his focus entirely to personal injury work in 2023. Since 2023, Blake has recovered $17.6 million in insurance proceeds for injured clients. Montgomery Law Firm takes every case on a contingency fee basis, meaning clients pay nothing unless Blake wins.
Governor Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas appointed him to serve as a Commissioner on the Arkansas Public Defender Commission. He is a member and former trustee of the Arkansas Bar Association, and belongs to the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, and the National Association of Premises Liability Attorneys.
You do not have to talk to Blake long before he starts talking about the Bible. He was saved by grace through faith in 2019. That faith, and a deep conviction about the dignity and value of human life, informs the way he practices law every day. He holds a graduate degree in theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and teaches high school boys Sunday school at Northern Hills Baptist Church.
The Montgomery name has carried weight in this corner of the South for over a hundred years. Blake is carrying that legacy forward in Texarkana, where he is putting down roots. He is licensed to practice in both Arkansas and Texas and represents clients in 18-wheeler wreck cases, automobile accidents, and premises liability claims.
