When It Matters Most
HOMETOWN PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
For more than 85 years, Texarkana Funeral Home has served families across the Four States Area with compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to personal care. In life’s most difficult moments, families are not simply looking for a service provider. They are looking for people they can trust to guide them with experience, dignity, and genuine compassion.
Locally owned and family operated, Texarkana Funeral Home remains deeply rooted in the communities it serves. Under the leadership of President Vickers Fuqua, a third-generation funeral director who has been with the company since 1990, the organization has built a reputation for thoughtful service and exceptional care. Vice President Thomas Fuqua III joined the family business as an owner in 2010 and continues to help guide the company’s long-standing commitment to the families it serves.
Supporting the organization is an experienced leadership team with deep ties to the communities they serve, including Chief Financial Officer Amy Damron; Archie Shipp, who has served families at the Texarkana, Arkansas, location since 1992 and also serves as Deputy Coroner for Miller County; Lynsey Gwin, who manages the Texarkana, Texas, and Chapelwood Funeral Home locations; Louis “Buzzy” Terrell, longtime manager of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home in New Boston; and Amy Helmick, who oversees the Hope, Prescott, and Gurdon locations. Together, they bring decades of experience, professionalism, and personal care to families across Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas.
Texarkana Funeral Home operates locations in Texarkana, Texas, Texarkana, Arkansas, Nash, New Boston, Hope, Gurdon, and Prescott, serving families throughout the region with a full range of funeral, cremation, cemetery, and pre-planning services. Their presence across the Four States Area allows families to rely on a trusted and familiar name close to home.
Whether a family chooses traditional burial or cremation, the focus remains the same: honoring a life with dignity, care, and meaning. From the first call through the final details, the team walks alongside each family so they can focus on remembering and celebrating the person they love. Families choosing cremation are offered the same level of personal attention and meaningful service, including opportunities for visitation and gathering that reflect the life being honored.
The company also owns and operates Hillcrest Memorial Park in Texarkana, Texas; Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas; and Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope, Arkansas — all perpetual-care cemeteries that have served generations of families throughout the region. Hillcrest Crematory, located on the grounds of Hillcrest Memorial Park, is operated exclusively by its own licensed funeral directors, allowing families to know their loved one remains in their care throughout the entire process.
In addition to serving families at the time of need, Texarkana Funeral Home also helps individuals thoughtfully plan ahead. Their pre-planning services are designed to give families peace of mind and ensure each person’s wishes are known and respected, all in a comfortable and pressure-free environment.
For generations, Texarkana Funeral Home has remained committed to serving families with compassion, professionalism, and personal care. That commitment continues today through every location, every service, and every family they are honored to serve.
