The Sarine Way

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. —Psalm 127:1

For the Sarine family, that verse is not decorative sentiment—it is the story of how their home came to be. Nearly a decade ago, the Sarines had plans to build in an entirely different neighborhood. Those plans were set aside, and in time, they came to see that pause as a gift. “We originally planned to build a totally different house plan in a different neighborhood almost 10 years earlier, but the Lord had us put a pause on that home,” Emily Sarine reflects. “When we decided we would like to build again, we had totally different preferences and design ideas. So thankful we listened and waited.”

What emerged from that season of patience is a home that feels both timeless and deeply intentional. Designed and constructed by homeowner Ross Sarine, who served as both builder and lead contractor alongside many talented local tradespeople, every detail carries meaning. “Ross had always wanted to design and build a house for us,” Emily says. “This place is so special because we truly worked together as a family, picking out every detail. The contractors and professionals who helped us build this home are second to none in their skill and character. We are thankful for the opportunity to live in this house.”

That gratitude is evident throughout. The kitchen anchors the space, designed for both gathering and high-level function, while a nearby pantry operates as a second kitchen, fully equipped for prep and effortless entertaining. Thoughtful details continue throughout, including a laundry room that connects directly to the primary closet and bathroom, creating an intuitive flow that simplifies everyday routines. A dedicated puppy hotel with built-in beds ensures no family member is overlooked.

From its seamless indoor-outdoor connection to its carefully considered layout, this home reflects the way the Sarines live, host, and move through each day, built not just with skilled hands, but with purpose, patience, and faith.
