Bougie Grubs Three-Meat Chili

There's something about a simmering pot of chili that feels like fall. The scent of seasoned beef and slow-cooked tomatoes fills the kitchen and somehow pulls everyone closer. But here's the real question—how do you eat your chili?

In some households, it's all about the extras. Some pour it over spaghetti noodles, calling it "Cincinnati-style." Others scoop it on top of white rice, load it over a baked potato, or crumble Fritos in the bottom of the bowl before that first ladle hits. And let's not forget the bold souls who pair their chili with a sweet, gooey cinnamon roll (if you know, you know!). However you serve it, one thing's certain—chili night is about comfort, creativity, and connection.

My favorite version is my Three-Meat Chili. It brings together the best of bold and savory flavors of ground beef, sausage, and thick-cut bacon, paired with fire-roasted tomatoes, onions, and Bush's Chili Beans. A dash (or two) of McCormick seasoning ties it all together for that just-right kick. It's rich. It's smoky. It's quick to make. It's the kind of recipe that makes people ask for seconds before they've even finished the first bowl.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 lb thick-sliced bacon
  • 2 cans Bush's Chili Beans
  • 2 packets McCormick Chili Seasoning
  • 1 can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
  • 2 cans Hunt's Seasoned Diced Tomatoes in Sauce
  • 1½ cups diced onions
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic

DIRECTIONS

  1. Brown the meats: In a pot, cook the ground beef and sausage together with onions until the meat is browned. Drain off excess fat.
  2. Cook the bacon: In a skillet, cut the bacon into small pieces, and cook until crisp. Stir often to prevent burning. Add cooked bacon to the pot.
  3. Season: Sprinkle the chili seasoning packets over the meat mixture and stir well to coat.
  4. Add the rest: Add beans, all tomatoes, garlic, and 1½ cans of water. Stir thoroughly.
  5. Simmer: Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 30 minutes, stirring often.
  6. Serve: Enjoy hot. It is great with shredded cheese, sour cream, cornbread, and even cinnamon rolls!
