TISD 2025 Top Ten

Oviya Elisabeth Justin has been named the Valedictorian for the 2025 graduating class of Texas High School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Justin.
Oviya is an AP Scholar with Distinction, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. She was selected to the National Honor Society, Quill & Scroll International Honor Society for High School Journalists, and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, where she served as President.
Oviya was a member of the Calculus Club, and she served as Co-President of the Science Club and Vice President of the ASPIRE Club. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the Tiger Times newspaper and has won numerous awards for her writing and design.
As a four-year member of the Texas HighSteppers, Oviya served as Senior Lieutenant and won several dance awards. She is a Hardy Memorial Methodist Church member and a Junior Volunteer at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Oviya was offered scholarships from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University in College Station, and the University of Texas at Dallas. She accepted the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society Scholarship and the All-Star Academic Excellence Scholarship.
Oviya accepted the University of Texas at Austin scholarship, where she will attend, majoring in aerospace engineering.

Laila Rose Toubia has been named Salutatorian of the 2025 Texas High School graduating class. She is the daughter of Dr. Elie Toubia and Dr. Claudia Jordan.
Laila is a Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. She was selected to Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, the National Honor Society, International Thespian Society, and the Spanish National Honor Society.
She received Academic Awards in AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry II, AP Biology II, and AP Microeconomics. Laila was also awarded the Heart of a Tiger Award in Algebra II Pre-AP.
She was a Dyslexia Ambassador and a Student Council and Leadership member. As a Rosebuds Junior Garden Club member, Laila served as Community Service and Fundraising Chair. She was a three-year member of the Texas HighSteppers and won the Highest GPA Award as well as the Outstanding Performer Award.
Laila is a member of the Judith McCarty School of Dance and the Texarkana Community Ballet.
She received scholarship offers from Baylor University and the College of William & Mary. Laila also received a scholarship from Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
She accepted the College of William & Mary scholarship, where she will attend, majoring in neuroscience.

Sophia Kai-Ly Gaylor, the daughter of Mr. Aaron and Dr. Ly Gaylor, graduated third. She is an AP Scholar with Honors and a Superintendent’s PSAT Scholar.
Kai-Ly is a Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. She was selected to the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
Kai-Ly was the President and Founder of the ASPIRE Club, a member of Calculus Club, Rosebuds Junior Garden Club, and Student Council. As a four-year member of the Texas HighSteppers, she won several awards, including Danceline High Kick Finalist.
Kai-Ly is a member of Church on the Rock.
She will attend Texas A&M University at College Station, majoring in public health.

Madelynne Grace Adams, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Adams, graduated fourth.
She is an AP Scholar with Distinction, Superintendent’s PSAT Scholar, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. Madelynne was selected to the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
She received Academic Awards for Highest Average in AP U.S. History and AP World History. Madelynne also received awards for AP Equine Science and the Leader in Me “Proactive Award.”
Madelynne was Vice President of the Science Club and a member of the Calculus Club.
As a four-year member and Team Captain of the THS Girls Varsity Soccer Team, Madelynne received honors as a Golden Boot recipient, an All-American, and Most Valuable Player, as well as District Offensive Player awards. She was also selected as one of the USYS Top Six High School Field Players.
She is a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church, serving on the Youth Advisory Council and as a sacristan.
Madelynne was offered scholarships to Harding University, Texas A&M University–Texarkana, Kentucky Christian University, University of Alabama–Birmingham, University of New Mexico, University of Pittsburgh, Tabor University, Seton Hall University, Mid-America Christian University, University of Maine, Colorado State University, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Central Arkansas. She also received the Jared Scott Beach Memorial Scholarship.
Madelynne accepted the Harding University scholarship, where she will attend, majoring in biology and pre-veterinary medicine.

Alan Paul Miller, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, graduated fifth.
He is a National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction, Superintendent’s PSAT Scholar, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. Alan was selected to the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
He was Co-President of the Calculus Club. Alan was also a member of the Student Lighthouse Team, a certified medical assistant, and a community tutor.
He was a member of the THS Varsity Tennis Team, where Alan was a regional qualifier and a Fighting Tiger Award recipient.
He is a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church.
Alan was offered scholarships from Louisiana State University–Baton Rouge and Texas Tech University.
He accepted the Louisiana State University scholarship, where he will attend, majoring in biology and pre-medicine.

Alexis Wren Swanson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Swanson, graduated sixth.
She is a Superintendent’s PSAT Scholar, ACT Hall of Fame honoree, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. Alexis was also selected to the National Honor Society.
She received the Academic Award for the Highest Average in AP English III.
Alexis was Vice President of the International Thespian Society and a member of the Science Club and Calculus Club. As a member of the Tiger Theatre Company, she won numerous awards, including UIL Best Theatre Technician and Best Theatre Crew Member. Alexis also qualified for the UIL State One-Act Play and Texas Thespians Stage Management National competitions.
She was offered scholarships from Stephen F. Austin State University, Baylor University, and Texas A&M University–Texarkana. Alexis also received the Red Lick Education Foundation Scholarship.
Alexis accepted the Stephen F. Austin University scholarship, where she will attend, majoring in theatre.

Elle Corinne Floyd, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cory Floyd, graduated seventh.
She is a Superintendent’s PSAT Scholar, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. Elle was selected to the National Honor Society.
She received Academic Awards for Highest Average in TigerVision. She also received the JEA Broadcast Anchor of Excellence Award.
Elle was Student Body President for Student Council and Rosebuds Junior Garden Club President. She won the Leader in Me “Think Win-Win” Award and was a Leadership Texarkana Youth Wilbur Award nominee.
Elle was a member of the THS Varsity Tennis Team for three years, winning numerous awards, including being selected for First Team Honors as a doubles team member.
She is a member of St. James Episcopal Church, where Elle is an acolyte.
She was offered scholarships from over 30 institutions and received the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas Lawrence Scholarship and Blake Scholarship.
She will attend the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in economics.

Kynlee Dawn Flippen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bo Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Flippen, graduated eighth.
She is a Superintendent’s PSAT Scholar, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. Kynlee was selected to the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. She also graduated with an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Texarkana College.
Kynlee received an Academic Award for Practicum in Audio/Video Production I DC, a TigerVision Award for Highest Average, and a Heart of the Tiger Award.
She was Vice President of TigerVision, DASH Director, and Social Media Director for Student Council. Kynlee was a member of Key Club and Rosebuds Junior Garden Club.
She is an active member of the Christian Warriors Church, where Kynlee is a youth group member serving on the Children’s Ministry, Media, and Worship Teams.
She was offered scholarships from several universities and received the Dusty Waldrep Leadership Scholarship.
She accepted the Southern Arkansas University scholarship, where she will attend, majoring in accounting.

Max Ryan Likins, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Likins, graduated ninth.
He is a member of the ACT Hall of Fame, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. Max was selected to the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
Max was the Senior Class Parliamentarian.
He was the Captain of the THS Varsity Swim Team and received awards as an Academic All-State and All-State First Team member. Max holds the Texas High School record for the 500 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle Relay.
He is a member of First Baptist Church Texarkana, where Max is a youth group leader.
He was offered scholarships from the University of the Incarnate Word, Ouachita Baptist University, and the University of Missouri.
Max accepted the scholarship from the University of the Incarnate Word, where he will attend, majoring in nursing.

Parker Jeremey Pruett, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cheney Pruett, graduated tenth.
He is a Superintendent’s PSAT Scholar, Texas Scholar, Distinguished Achievement Program graduate, and an H. Ross Perot STEM Academy graduate. Parker was selected to the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
He is a member of DECA, Student Council, and Business Professionals of America.
Parker was a member of the THS Varsity Golf Team for three years and was chosen as a member of the Academic All-State Team each year. He has been a member of the District Champion Team, a member of the First District Team, and a regional qualifier.
Parker is a member and volunteer at Heritage Church.
He will attend the University of Arkansas, Walton Honors College of Business, majoring in business.
