Imperfect Perfection

Kentrell and I both attended school in Texarkana—he attended Texas High and I attended Liberty-Eylau. We met through mutual friends. When we first started communicating, he lost interest quickly because I was a firecracker and a wild child. He says I was doing way too much for him, and I laugh at this story all the time. We are completely different. He is very much an introvert and prefers to communicate with a smaller crowd of people. I am an extrovert.

Courage to Love Again

It started off with a few trips to the same store that ended with our greatest purchase— each other’s hearts! I was divorced and Anthony had never married before. We ran into each other several times at a local store and it was not exactly love at first sight, but it was enough to send a Facebook request. For the record, he messaged me first, but thankfully I responded. Maybe our encounters had not been a coincidence. Maybe it was fate. After a few weeks of messaging, we exchanged numbers, and he finally asked me out.

A Long Road to the Beginning

It was really all by chance that we ended up at the University of Wyoming together. Lucas was originally planning on playing football at Baylor but was injured his senior year. He then received an offer from the University of Wyoming. I had one offer for a golf scholarship, and it was from the University of Wyoming, one of the coldest schools in the country (not exactly ideal golf weather). However, since it was my only offer, I jumped on it as soon as I could!

As Senior Class Vice President, my primary duty would be to plan our ten-year reunion in 2019. Four Things To Do During the Month of February! … Considering the fact that I have literally been single since my birthdate in 1997, I usually have no reason to look forward to February 14 as it rolls around each year. Still, that has never stopped me from wrapping up in a fluffy blanket on the couch with a big bag of heart-shaped Reese’s peanut butter cups, giving myself a stomachache, watching The Last Song (being able to recite every word as I do), and somehow being completely okay in my single bliss.

In The Running

The usual roar of the grandstands at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, formerly Oaklawn Park Race Track in Hot Springs, Arkansas, dulled to a deafening silence due to COVID-19 protocols near the end of last year’s racing season. While fans could not watch and cheer on the animals in person, the horses still ran and trained at the Hot Springs mainstay. … On Christmas of 2015, Kerry and Alan Ribble, owners of Ribble Farms, joined the fraternity of horse owners when Alan gifted Kerry a racehorse.
