Opportunities, Inc. 2025 Annual Autumn Luncheon

The Opportunities, Inc. Annual Autumn Luncheon was held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the home of Jeanna Rogers. This signature event, hosted by the Foundation Board, has been held since 1985. Founded by Joan Carter and the late Nancy Sandefur, the Opportunities, Inc. Foundation Board raises public awareness about Opportunities, Inc. and its many programs. This year's luncheon was held in memory of Patsy Bell, celebrating the ongoing progress of the organization while raising vital funds to support local children and adults with disabilities in our community.

Festival of Trees 2025 Gala

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made hosted its annual Festival of the Trees November 6-8, 2025, at the Texarkana, Arkansas Convention Center, concluding with a festive gala on Saturday evening. The multi-day event featured beautifully decorated Christmas trees, holiday shopping, and community festivities, all in support of the organization’s mission to care for families with babies in the NICU by providing resources, encouragement, and compassionate support.

The Primary Commons Grand Opening

The Primary Commons officially celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 417 East New Boston Road in Nash, Texas. Guests were welcomed for a come-and-go event, where they experienced the venue’s elevated farm-to-table concept and genuine spirit of hospitality. Attendees enjoyed appetizers highlighting the fall seasonal menu, along with signature craft cocktails, curated wines, and beer. The event offered a first look at the warm, thoughtfully designed space and an opportunity to meet the team behind the concept.

8th Annual Destination Downtown

On Saturday, October 11th, 2025, LNKTXK hosted the 8th Annual Destination Downtown. Destination Downtown is an evening of food, drinks and live entertainment. This year the event consisted of over 15 stops and 10 bands performing across downtown Texarkana. The purpose of the event is to showcase our ever expanding downtown and offer attendees an opportunity to sample what downtown has to offer in hopes they will become frequent supporters.

Hospice of Texarkana 2025 Jeans and Bling

The 16th Annual Jeans and Bling, benefiting Hospice of Texarkana, took place at the Texarkana, Texas, Convention Center on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The evening kicked off with a lively celebrity lip sync contest, where Mary Washington claimed victory. Becky Easley with RE/MAX Preferred and Kimberly Collins of Better Homes & Gardens Realty also performed, with a special encore from last year’s champ, Donna Davis. The night also featured live music from The Landsharks, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band.

Opportunities, Inc. 2025 Golf Invitational

The 36th Annual Opportunities Inc. Golf Invitational was held at Texarkana Country Club on Monday, September 15, 2025. Opportunities Inc. provides developmental and support services to children and adults with disabilities, helping them live full lives and encouraging recognition of the value and abilities of everyone in our community. … Over the past 36 years, the tournament has raised more than $3.5 million—funds that have been truly life-changing for those served by the organization. … With the help of the Opportunities Inc.

Texarkana ISD Celebrates the Opening of Parks Elementary School

Texarkana Independent School District celebrated the ribbon-cutting and open house for the new Parks Elementary School, built on the historic Pine Street site. The building unites elements of the past in its exterior architecture with a state-of-the-art interior, designed to inspire a new generation of students. … Superintendent Dr. Doug Brubaker and Principal Audrey Shumate welcomed attendees, highlighting the school’s focus on early college and career exploration, leadership development, and fostering creativity.


Texas A&M Gourmet Brunch Dinner 2025

Women for A&M Texarkana hosted a Gourmet Brunch & Dinner on August 23, 2025, at the Texas A&M–Texarkana campus and the Texarkana Country Club. Guests enjoyed a chef’s demonstration during brunch, while dinner featured a cocktail hour with an oyster bar, followed by a four-course meal crafted by Chef David Bancroft, owner of ACRE and Bow & Arrow in Auburn, Alabama.

2025 Debutante Announcement Tea

The Debutante Cotillion Club of Texarkana honored the 2025 debutantes at the annual Announcement Tea on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Texarkana Country Club. This year's debutantes are:
