CASA for Children held their 16th Annual Edge of Texas Golf Tournament on September 27, 20201 at Northridge Country Club. Thirty four teams enjoyed a day of golf while supporting a great cause. All proceeds from the tournament went to benefit CASA and the Texarkana Children’s Advocacy Center.
The Women of Hope & Courage (WOHC) held a Champagne Soirée & Celebration on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Northridge Country Club. The event was a celebration of 50 years of combined service for CASA and the Texarkana Children’s Advocacy Center (TCAC) who work collectively to provide hope, healing and justice to child abuse survivors in our community. The WOHC are ambassadors for children victimized by abuse through increasing community awareness, promoting advocacy, and fundraising on behalf of CASA and TCAC.
Opportunities, Inc. held its 32nd Annual Golf Invitational on September 12 and 13, 2021, at Texarkana Country Club featuring guest speaker and pro golfer Todd Hamilton and The Sounds of Joy Choir. Clay Roberts was the recipient of the 2021 David Pryor Award. This year's event was a huge success and all support enables Opportunities, Inc. to provide specialized services for individuals with disabilities.
The Texarkana Children Charities Open Cut Party was held on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Northridge Country Club. The All Pro Tour (APT) and Womens All Pro Tour (WAPT) was a week-long event that benefited Runnin' WJ Ranch. The tournament took place at Northridge Country Club and Texarkana Country Club.
The Texarkana Regional Airport Authority (“TRAA”) held a livestream groundbreaking ceremony on social media and other websites on Saturday, June 12, 2021, to officially begin the construction phase of the new airport and passenger terminal at Texarkana Regional Airport.
TEXAR presented Local Bands, Local Brews, Local Bites on Thursday, June 24 in front of the Historic Perot Theatre. This was a free concert featuring The Moss Brothers with food and drinks available from Pecan Point Brewing and Red Bone Brewery tents.

Each year, the Clay Eichler Memorial Fund raises money through an annual event known as “Clay’s Golf and Guitars” with all profits benefitting worthy local organizations needing financial assistance. Saturday, May 22, 2021, over 400 people enjoyed ESCAPE: The Ultimate Journey Tribute Band at the 7th annual Clay's Golf and Guitars Concert. The Clay Eichler Memorial Fund raises money through its annual event, “Clay’s Golf and Guitars,” with all profits raised this year benefitted Haven Homes. Haven Homes is a local non-profit organization that provides a safe transition, temporary housing, and life-changing support services for women and men healing from addiction and homelessness. The Clay Eichler Memorial Fund was able to donate $170,000 to Haven Homes from this year's event.
The Kiwanis Club of Texarkana has a mission to improve the world, one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Texarkana hosted the 63rd Annual Pancake Day on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Truman Arnold Center on Texarkana College’s campus. Pancake Day is an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, complete with sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice and milk! All proceeds will go towards funding local organizations which directly impact the lives of children in our community. … Pancake Day is truly a community event.
