Talk Tuesday

Living in Grace

“In my life, I have suffered domestic and substance abuse. I was led to donate to Grace House because they represent a need that I see and know. I personally was lucky enough to have an escape plan and route, but so many women and children think they have no other choice but to return to their abuser or abusers. People in need of these services are all too often treated with the least dignity. They need love, compassion, respect, and every support. The PTSD and somatic responses live on... until nourished and treated. That’s where Grace House comes in.

At the time, she felt her daughter's unwanted intervention was taking away her independence. … Things initially began to change for Cece after she lost her husband. Running for Clean and Living Water

When I was 14, I first heard that over 703 million people lack access to clean and safe drinking water. I read about a fundraiser called the 6k for Water and casually suggested to my dad, the associate pastor of my church, that it was something we should do. He took the idea and ran with it, and in 2018, Fellowship Bible Church began hosting an annual 6K4WATER. … Running or walking 6 kilometers—the average distance people without easy access to clean water travel each day to often unsafe sources—is a powerful way to raise awareness and funds for the global water crisis.

Humble Steps, Eternal Reward—The Story of Steve Adams

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." —Psalms 116:15 … Steve… where do I even begin? I’ll never forget the first time I saw Steve—sitting on a curb outside Starbucks, eating beans straight from a can. Our eyes met as I drove by, sipping my overpriced, overly indulgent coffee. At that moment, something stuck with me. … Immediate guilt consumed me as he looked as happy with his opened can as I was with the freshly made latte in my hand.
