Genoa Central High School 2024 Senior Perspective

When my guidance counselor asked me to write this article, part of her description really resonated with me. I asked her what I should focus on, and she said, "Maybe something that happened to you or changed you." This experience has been the most eventful part of my life, and I am incredibly thankful for its impact on my perspective. I learned that obstacles are really opportunities for growth. This was a hard lesson for me as a Type-A perfectionist who wanted to excel at everything immediately.

A Taste of Tradition

TISD 2024 Senior Perspective

Starting high school, everyone wants the same thing—to belong. It may sound cliché, like the start of a Disney movie, but it's a truth that stands the test of time. This desire for belonging extends beyond high school; it's a central theme of the teenage years. Whether as an athlete, artist, leader, photographer, or scholar, everyone wants to find their place. I, like many of my peers, have struggled to discover my role not just in school but as a person.

Extending a Hand of Faith and Friendship

Follow along for some words of encouragement, my friends. I call you all friends because it is my heart’s duty and ministry to do so. As Jesus said, “I call you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father” (John 15:15). … Today, we are facing so many changes and obstacles that everything seems hard. We stress out knowing we may not make it to the next paycheck or worrying about bills, children, lack of sleep, and health. My words to you today are to remind you it’s not you, and it’s probably not something you can control that is making you upset.

LEISD Senior Perspective 2024

High school is often described as a transformative period in a young person’s life. It is a time marked by significant academic, social, and personal development. As I entered Liberty-Eylau High School in 2020, I faced challenges such as virtual school during the first semester of my freshman year. I expected high school to present me with smiling faces and determined teachers, but as I walked the halls with face masks and scared eyes, I knew how much of an impact the coronavirus had on us. … Many students decided it was best to learn virtually, away from the germs at school.
