This desire for belonging extends beyond high school; it's a central theme of the teenage years. Whether as an athlete, artist, leader, photographer, or scholar, everyone wants to find their place. I, like many of my peers, have struggled to discover my role not just in school but as a person.

Reflecting on my years at Ashdown Public Schools, I can't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude and pride for being part of such a nurturing and empowering community. From elementary to high school, the journey has been filled with invaluable experiences, personal growth, and countless memories that have shaped who I am today. Looking back from today, I see how much growth they have provided me, how much confidence they have instilled in me, the passions they have allowed me to uncover, and the sense of purpose I have now found through self-discovery.

Bougie Grubs Honey-Drizzled Sweet Potato Boats

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

High school is often described as a transformative period in a young person’s life. It is a time marked by significant academic, social, and personal development. As I entered Liberty-Eylau High School in 2020, I faced challenges such as virtual school during the first semester of my freshman year. I expected high school to present me with smiling faces and determined teachers, but as I walked the halls with face masks and scared eyes, I knew how much of an impact the coronavirus had on us. … Many students decided it was best to learn virtually, away from the germs at school.
